| SPONSORBANK SUPPORTS THE DON'T X THE LINE CAMPAIGN
SponsorBank have joined forces with Mal Lee from the Don't X The Line Campaign to help bring respect back to the grass roots game.
The award winning campaign was founded by Mal Lee in 2003 and is supported by oraganisations including The FA, The PFA, Liverpool FC and Everton FC to name a few. Mal had witnessed one too many unacceptable incidents in his role as manager of junior teams.
He said: “I was walking across Stanley Park with a fellow referee and decided that something had to be done. Between Anfield and Goodison Park this was an inspirational place to have the idea.”
One of the worst incidents of the time was a pitch invasion by two u/14 teams, managers and parents in a mass brawl which so easily could have led into serious injuries. Luckily we the committee were on hand to calm the situation, remember this is junior football.

SPONSORBANK GOES BACK TO SCHOOL
Up to 30,000 primary school children across the North West are
to be given free sponsored pedometers and mini beanbags in the fight
against childhood obesity.
SponsorBank has joined forces with Manchester based charity, MedEquip4Kids,
in launching a new schools programme visiting hundreds of primary
schools throughout the region to help tackle the growing epidemic
of overweight youngsters.
Pupils aged 7 to 11 years of age will each be given a pedometer
as an incentive to increase their daily number of steps, while younger
children aged three to six years old will get a mini beanbag and
be shown a number of fun exercises that can be done with them.
The 'Get Active with Pip' programme has been created in conjunction
with Manchester Primary Care Trust encouraging children to adopt
a healthy lifestyle and get the recommended one hour of exercise
every day.
MedEquip4Kids
schools presenters will speak to pupils about the five steps to
stay healthy - healthy eating, drinking water, staying active, getting
enough sleep, and personal hygiene - before giving out games to
play at home along with the pedometers and beanbags.
MedEquip4Kids Community Fundraiser Rose Franks said: "We spend
hundreds of thousands of pounds each year providing hospitals with
medical equipment for children to make them better and are now hoping
our new schools programme will encourage the youngsters to do all
they can to stay fit and healthy."
Allistair Carmichael, SponsorBank MD continued, “In order
for children to stay fit and healthy, we need to make sure they
enjoy some form of regular physical activity. This project is not
just a short term “fix”. In addition to providing the
pedometers and bean bags we will continue to work with all of the
schools involved to ensure that as many children as possible will
be able to continue to partake in regular exercise.”
